Quarterly Morningstar (Direct & IDM) Portfolio Asset Allocation Updates

Purpose: 

To update the asset allocations in M* Direct and IDM quarterly as at the date provided by AM.

Process:

The updates will be done in both Morningstar Direct and Morningstar IDM, however, the starting point is Morningstar Direct.

The following models have to be updated:

* Portfoliometrix Core 3-8

* PortfolioMetrix Sustainable World 3-8

* PortfolioMetrix Blended 3-8

* PortfolioMetrix Global Passive 3-8

Step 1: Open M* Direct and navigate to Portfolio Management --> Portfolios --> Model Portfolios

For each model range:

1. Select Edit --> New Portfolio

1.1. New Portfolio Date: The new date to be added

1.2. Select Modify Constituents from an Existing Portfolio & Retain Weights

1.3. OK

1.4. Export these weights as they will be used in the M* IDM upload file

Step 2: Open M* IDM and navigate to Vehicle --> Select model --> Portfolio Holdings (Left pane)

1. Download the Template and complete as follows (separately for each model):

• Portfolio As of Date: New date
• Unique Portfolio Identifier & Security Identifier: ISIN
• Fund/Vehicle Name & Security Description: Name of fund
• Shares/Per Value: 0.00
• Base Market Value/Percentage Weight: Weights as per M* Direct exports
• Portfolio Base Currency: Currency

Once completed and saved, click on Import data.

Make sure that the recently added date appears in "Holding History" (Portfolio Date drop down). This might take some time (hours to a day) to load/reflect.

Important Note: The date format in IDM is mm/dd/yyyy, whereas the format in Direct is dd/mm/yyyy.
