Digital Signing Authorisation Process
When an adviser requests digital signing to be set up, the relevant KI must be copied on the request to ensure visibility and allow for any concerns to be raised prior to activation; this serves as an oversight measure rather than a legal requirement, in line with the authority warranty in the mandate.
Process Steps
- Adviser submits a request via email to set up digital signing.
- Identify partner firm's Key Individual (KI).
- CC the relevant KI on the request communication (Oversight Step):
- This provides:
- Visibility of the request.
- Opportunity to raise any concerns before activation.
- This provides:
- Await Feedback (if any):
- Proceed unless the KI raises concerns.
- If concerns are raised, address them before continuing.
- Enable Digital Signing:
- Once oversight step is complete, proceed with enabling digital signing.
